Learn a little more about lino printing in this 4 hour workshop, based in the artist's studio in Fulford, York, on Saturday 1st June 10.30-2.30 Suitable for beginners and those with a little previous experience.

You will be working with colour - learning about graduated inking and how to get part of the print a different colour with "jigsaw" printing one or two lino blocks, using a range of lino carving tools, applying printing ink with a roller and printing onto a range of papers using a pinch press and the pressure of a baren or spoon. As we are using vegetable oil based ink, your prints will be sent to you once dry. You should bring an apron or wear old clothes you don't mind picking up ink!

I welcome subject specific questions and discussion and will provide a demonstration of each aspect of the process. Be prepared to get stuck in to designing, carving and printing your lino block. You can bring ideas, a drawing or other image to work from, or work from mono chrome photos I can provide.
