Learn the basics of lino printing in this 4 hour workshop, based in the artist's studio in Fulford, York, on Saturday 18th May. Suitable for beginners and those with a little previous experience.
You will be working on a single A6 lino block, using a range of lino carving tools, applying printing ink with a roller and printing onto a range of papers using the pressure of a baren or spoon. AS we are using oil based ink, you prints will be sent to you once dry.
You should bring an apron or wear old clothes you don't mind picking up ink! I welcome subject specific questions and discussion and will provide a short demonstration of each aspect of the process. Be prepared to get stuck in to designing, carving and printing your lino block.
You can bring a drawing or image to work from, or work from mono chrome photos provided.
